The grass will dry today.

\nGlowing and vast, above this tranquil spot.
\nCome and sit down, sweet is the summer-air!
\nNot just from the long rows we got

\nOf sheep: the cud drawn back, and flung
\nAt its return, up in the ruminants,

\nEs handelt sich ja auch um eine Parodie auf die ersten zwei Strophen eines Gedichts von Matthew Arnold, das ich im Lesekreisel einstellen will, wenn ich mal einiges dazu zusammengeschrieben habe. Ich fand den Rhythmus und die Sprache des Originals \u201cintriguing\u201d, nicht aber das Miesepetrige der Stimmung und des Inhalts, deshalb habe ich es, sprachlichen Aufbau so weit wie m\u00f6glich erhaltend, vor etwas mehr als einem Jahr mit anderen Worten \u201cgef\u00fcllt\u201d.<\/p>\n
